Pub events, usually hosted upstairs in the Pack Horse Pub, Woodhouse Lane, Leeds, provide a platform for artist, scientist and makers to share their work and inspire collaboration.

The meetings are energetic and open, with problems, questions and suggestions welcomed in the spirit of learning from and helping each other to move work forward. The aim is simply to create and nurture conversations that may lead to new collaborations, which in turn result in the making of exciting new work.

The evenings involve three 10 minute talks from guest speakers from each of the art, science and maker disciplines. The emphasis is on process and work in progress or ideas for the future rather than completed projects.

Informal discussion follows, usually over a drink (or two).

We often have ‘curiosities’ as an inspiration for discussion. A curiosity can be a scientific sample, piece of equipment, antique, invention, tool or artwork that relates to the theme of the main presentations.
