Textile Proteins
Collaborators:
Lorna Dougan | Rhiannon Gregory | Paul Turner | Andrew Wilson
As a group we liked the similarities between weaving patterns and the charts and visualisations used to describe the structure of proteins, and we’re experimenting with different rule sets for translation between the two, ranging from simple rules about colour choices for different amino acids in a protein to choosing yarn based on the aesthetic qualities of the finished piece rather than the information content.
