BIO:
A collaborative Scientific-Artist based in Bradford, who uses scientific research as a starting point to form conceptual, two and three dimensional artworks. The hybrid nature of her practice opens up new realms, that blur the boundaries between art, science and innovation.
PROJECT:
I aim to develop my Fluid Sculptures project, using the concept of fluid dynamics – I will make kinetic sculptures using tanks/tubes, to build sculptures with different types of liquids flowing through them at different speeds. I will control the flow rate, through a series of specialist pumps.

Why do you want to take part ASMbly Lab?
I want to take part in ASMbly to develop my new project on the broad concept of fluid dynamics. Ideally, I would like to foster collaborations with Fluid Dynamics researchers from the University of Leeds, as well as makers/sculptors to develop the fluid sculptures further. As this is a new project, I think ASMbly Lab will have a profound effect on the development and outcome of the project into a kinetic sculpture of some kind. I may also need to work with Technologists/Makers who work with circuits/electronics to build working systems that make the fluids move in the space in which they inhabit – be that through a tube or in a tank. At first, I will experiment with water, oil and inks and through the collaboration with a fluid dynamics researcher – experiment with non-Newtonian liquids and other interesting fluids that react and move differently to one another.
The kinetic sculpture I would like to make in the lab is using tanks/tubes, to build sculptures with different types of liquids flowing through them at different speeds. I can control the flow rate, through a series of specialist pumps that I have borrowed and can bring to the lab.
Is this a new/ existing project, artwork or piece of research?
New project.
Are you looking for collaborators?
Yes – Fluid Dynamics researcher/s, sculptors/makers and Technologists/electronics.
Skill Sharing
Strong ideas, project management, Adobe suite skills, working with people, materials and resources – overall an open attitude towards the collaborative process with practitioners outside of my discipline.
Where are you based?
