The Market Stalls project was a collection of DIYbio experiments developed by Dr. Jo Leng, Andy Wilson, Dr. Jo Galloway, Joe Corcoran and Paul Turner and then run on market stalls in Leeds Kirkgate and Huddersfield markets. The experiments included: taking ‘Cell-fies’ with a homebuilt microscope, food dyes and a quick cheek swab of the volunteer; real-time paper chromatography of fruits, vegetables and inks that were available in the markets and an experiment demonstrating how smell varies between people.
